Content to be Unsatisfied

April 18, 2024

In our show with special guest Sandra Carl, we touched on the notion of being a “fully formed” crone. For us, being fully formed is about reaching the stage in life where we are able to bring all our wisdom, knowledge, experience and intuition to bear not only in our own lives, but in our interactions with younger women.

As we continued to noodle on the subject of being a fully formed crone, we came to the conclusion that a fully formed crone is also fully alive. Fully formed crones are all about living their best lives for as long as possible. In other words, we’re alive ‘til we’re dead!

So, it would be erroneous to equate being fully formed with being “finished.” Until we take our last breath, every day gives us the opportunity to learn, grow and be a better version of ourselves. Being fully formed means making the most of the opportunities that allow us to do just that.

Fully formed is about having a mindset focused on expansion rather than contraction. Too often, our thoughts as we age focus on what we can’t do anymore, what’s behind us rather than on what’s still possible. What we can do is continue to thrive. What’s ahead of us is, well, everything. Each of us has all the time there is. That could be days, months or years. The fact that we don’t know how long we have gives importance and poignance to our days. The real question is how will we use the time left to us? Will we shrink and just wait for death, or will we expand and wring all we can out of life?

Fully formed crones are content with being unsatisfied. Unsatisfied with complacency, with stasis, with stagnancy. The time to start living a fully formed life is now. Because, let’s be real, nobody puts a crone in the corner…especially not herself!
