The Wheel of Life

December 18, 2024

As I write this, we’ve entered the last month of 2024. Time is so weird after you turn 50. Time at this stage of life careens along like a juggernaut. Days, weeks, months zip by whether we’re paying attention or not. All of a sudden children are grown…and having their own. Loved ones move on to another plane of existence (or don’t…whatever you believe.) The wheel of life turns, creaking ever forward into the future.

We like to think that people generally choose to honour their time on Earth by trying to be the best people they can be and by doing things that contribute to the greater good and give their lives meaning. That’s essentially what Trudy and I have been trying to do with our time as it related to CroneCast.

Trudy and I wrap 2024, the inaugural year of CroneCast, with 23 episodes. We’ve talked about what it means to be a crone, about intuition, about the collecting and divesting of material things, and about living life to the fullest. We’ve also talked about grief and creativity. In our last episode of the year, we talked with our special guest about hope.

We’ve done what we do best: talk. And, you have listened. A lot of you. In fact, almost 2,000 of you have become listeners. And you’ve emailed us. And messaged us. And talked to us at parties about the podcast. And you’ve told your friends and family to listen. To say we’re grateful to you seems a woefully inadequate sentiment. But we are…grateful.

We’ve got lots more to talk about in 2025. In fact, our first episode of the new year will feature an interview with a woman I never thought in a million years I’d get to meet, let alone talk to for an hour. That interview is testament to what can happen when you go ahead and ask.

We can’t wait for you to join us again in January. Until then, go shine your light. Tell your truth. Take up space. And, above all, be the crone you are.
